My friend came to visit for a week so I managed to escape over to the west coast of Scotland for a few days. I've always wanted to visit Applecross and drive the twisty, turny, high road through the
Applecross Pass. It was an experience! We also visited Skye, Inverness, Aviemore and Pitlochry before heading back to the farm so lots of miles covered. The following week I had a few days in Edinburgh with my sister and niece as the
Edinburgh Festival is on and we spent some time visiting galleries, watching
street performers on the Royal Mile, and just relaxing (and eating). I finally did the
Mary King's Close tour too, something else I've been meaning to do for a long time but never got around to it. All this time off, of course, meant that I was waaay behind with my work at the farm so been extremely busy catching up!

Isn't it so nice to escape? I'm doing that now, myself... sounds like you've had some fun!
